Choose FIVE of the following ten questions to answer in short answer responses. You must cite specific examples from the short stories in your answers:

  9. In “The Bloody Bay,” was Sheets justified in taking a dead man’s boots? Why or why not
  10. Which story made the biggest impact on you?

Notes: 

  • It is not necessary to answer questions in numerical order, but please clearly indicate which question you are answering. 
  • Read the questions carefully to decide if and when to write in first person.
  • Respond to all questions using the Short Answer Response outline we discussed in class.
  • Remember, when writing about fiction, you should always write in the present tense.
